As a pediatric complex care nurse practitioner, Wendy Geiger, F.N.P., sees children with medically complex conditions that require many specialty providers to be involved in their care.
She assists in navigating a child’s health care needs by providing a link between their specialists, primary care team and family.
“I love making connections and building trust with the patients and their families. This relationship allows for a team approach in health care management,” Geiger said.
Geiger uses this relationship to make sure her patients and family get what they need out of their countless specialty and primary care appointments throughout the year.
“I spend time talking through options and offering enough information to allow for the patient and family to make an informed decision,” Geiger said. “I feel that providing care to my patients is a group effort that includes not only the medical providers for the patient but also the patient and their family.”
Geiger received her master’s in nursing practice from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is a board certified family nurse practitioner. She has worked with pediatric patients since 2004 – first as a nurse and now as a family nurse practitioner.
In her spare time, Geiger loves reading and spending time with her husband, three girls and friends. They participate in many outdoor activities such as UTV rides, summer cookouts by the pond or going to her husband’s tractor pulls.
