After seeing compassionate care given to his grandfather during recovery from open-heart surgery, Dr. Syed Hasan was drawn to medicine. Given Dr. Hasan's friendly, talkative nature and expertise in science, he knew this was his calling.
His third world experience in health care in Pakistan gave him another deep appreciation for his career choice. As an emergency medicine physician, Dr. Hasan treats patients of all ages with a variety of health conditions and concerns.
Dr. Hasan treats his patients like a friend. He takes time to get to know you beyond just medical care. He is committed to continuation of care throughout a person's lifetime, and can help manage a patient's care journey.
“I love interacting with my patients and getting to know them," he said. “In medicine, I feel like I can make a difference in people's lives."
Dr. Hasan has expertise in rural emergency rooms in Minnesota and Indiana and five years of urgent care experience in small towns to larger cities. His background drew him toward continuing to provide care for smaller communities.
“I chose Neillsville because of the community size and the close, compassionate care that can be provided," he said. “I have developed a passion to help small cities with acute care needs."
He also enjoys emergency medicine because, as a provider, you can immediately help someone and can help improve their health as quickly as possible.
Dr. Hasan received his medical degree from Khyber Medical College, Peshawar Pakistan. He completed his residency at Fort Wayne Education Program, Fort Wayne Indiana.
As a Florida native, Dr. Hasan enjoys the small-town feel in Marshfield. He is a huge Miami sports fan – basketball and football. He also enjoys hiking, swimming, video gaming and playing basketball.
“I really enjoy everything," Dr. Hasan said. “I try to find a positive in whatever I can."
