Marshfield Clinic welcomed Dr. Sueyi Lai
in 2015. She provides complete cancer
care for people in the Northwoods.
“I chose to come here because I wanted
to come back to the Midwest. When I
visited, I fell in love with the beauty of
the Northwoods and the warmth of its
people,” said Dr. Lai.
In her spare time, Dr. Lai enjoys traveling,
exploring new cities and restaurants,
running, hiking, dancing ballet and
volunteering. Her professional interests
include research on immunotherapy in
solid tumors with a special interest in

Dr. Lai has been active in service to AIDS awareness and fundraising organizations, and has volunteered to support the Red Cross and cancer research fundraising. She also volunteers with the Malaysia-US Chamber of Commerce based in Washington DC. Her background is Malaysian and she speaks Chinese
dialects, Malay and English fluently.
Dr. Lai earned her medical degree at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada. Then, she completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL and most recently, completed her clinical fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC.
