“I enjoy being active in my job and promoting active, healthy lifestyles for patients on their road to recovery."
Stephanie Decker is a physical therapist specializing in the spine. She helps patients with health concerns including traumatic injuries, headaches, arthritis and dysfunctions affecting nerves, joints and muscles.
Decker's interest in this specialty comes from a desire to understand the complexity of the spine and how it relates to movement.
“With so many different articulations between structures, I found it fascinating how everything works in conjunction with each other to create the foundation for functional mobility," Decker said.
Creating a place where her patients feel safe to share their concerns and their goals is an emphasis in Decker's method of care. She works to develop a holistic treatment plan that is individualized for each person.
“I want patients to feel listened to when they share their needs and goals," Decker said. “I feel it's most important to get to know them as an individual so that I can fully understand and treat the patient as a whole."
Decker earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree and bachelor's degree at Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
When she's not working, she loves spending time with her family and friends, playing sports and being active with her young children.
