Dr. Sowjanya Bapani chose to stay in
Marshfield after completing her internal
medicine residency at Marshfield Clinic/
Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital. She is a
hospitalist, caring for hospitalized patients.
After earning her medical degree in India,
Dr. Bapani (pronounced BAH-pa-nee)
completed additional training before
coming to Marshfield. She said she was
encouraged to check on Marshfield Clinic
by a past colleague who completed a
residency here.
“My philosophy is to connect with patients
and get to know them personally,” she said.
“I also want them to share my confidence that I know what I’m doing, and then making them feel safe and satisfied.”
She and her husband, Vikram Mekala,
a software engineer, have a young daughter, Bhavya.
