“I love the challenge of having to think quickly, make
decisions, and act on them. The positive outcomes are always fulfilling.”
It was a coming home, of sorts, for Dr. Randal Wojciehoski. He grew up in Stevens Point and was trained at Marshfield Clinic Health System in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
“I was always fascinated by medicine and caring for people," said Dr. Wojciehoski. “I had great respect for the physicians in my hometown of Stevens Point and wanted to emulate their behavior, professionalism, and dedication."
Dr. Wojciehoski now serves his community as an emergency medicine physician. He says he is comfortable with all aspects of emergency care, treating everyone from newborns to centenarians.
“I'm grateful to be able to intervene in critical situations and stabilize patients," said Dr. Wojciehoski. “This diminishes the anxiety of the patient and families."
Dr. Wojciehoski became a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine after studying at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine. He is also a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine, and is board-certified in emergency medicine and internal medicine. Furthermore, Dr. Wojciehoski is a senior Federal Aviation Association Medical Examiner, and offers FAA exams for pilots at Marshfield Medical Center-River Region at Stevens Point.
“One of the highlights of my week is seeing pilots for their FAA medical exams," Dr. Wojciehoski said. “I have developed tremendous friendships with pilots from all different walks of life. It is a pleasure to be involved in their health care and helping them remain active as private and commercial aviators."
Dr. Wojciehoski is a pilot himself, with over 5,500 hours of airtime. When he isn't working or flying, Dr. Wojciehoski enjoys golfing, boating and spending time at his Florida home. He has a wife of more than 30 years and two children.
