“Every patient has different goals, and
I try to help each person achieve the
outcome they desire.”
Dr. Maya Battikha loves being active and helping her patients be active as well. This goal of keeping patients moving and feeling well explains why she entered physical medicine.
“I want to help people enjoy a better lifestyle,” Dr. Battikha said. She sees patients suffering from back, neck, hip and knee pain, among other issues.
For Dr. Battikha, it’s important to know her patients’ goals for treatment.
“I like to see what the patient wants,” she said. “There are several ways to treat a condition and different patients want different things.”
The best aspect of practicing medicine is helping a patient feel better, Dr. Battikha said. She hopes patients enjoy working with her and feel she is attentive to their needs.
Dr. Battikha hails from Beirut, Lebanon, and traveled to the United States for her residency. She earned her medical degree from the American University of Beirut. She completed a general surgery internship at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation was completed at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City.
Dr. Battikha enjoys traveling, swimming, biking and camping with her husband and daughter.
