Maureen Hartzheim is a physical therapist providing rehabilitation services following surgeries, sports or running injuries and other post-traumatic conditions. She also treats low back, neck and other joint problems as well as soft tissue injuries, vertigo and balance problems.
As a Minocqua native, Hartzheim enjoys working in a small-town environment. She says Marshfield Clinic Health System's team of technological and specialty resources allow her to give her patients state-of-the-art care in a rural setting.
Along with typical physical therapy treatments, Hartzheim is certified in dry needling. The procedure involves insertion of very thin needles at specific points of the body to help with neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement issues.
“I am impressed with the positive results I've gotten with the addition of dry needling to my practice," Hartzheim said.
Hartzheim completed her undergraduate degree and her professional physical therapy training at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors, hiking and biking on the many trails in the Northwoods. Hartzheim also serves as a coach for track and cross-country at Lakeland Union High School in Minocqua.
