“I appreciate that patients trust that I know
the best way to help them or will find the best way to help them.”
Dr. Krzysztof Rus is a hospital medicine physician who values the diversity of patients and cases he helps treat.
“It keeps the job engaging," Dr. Rus said. “There is a significant range of acuity in the patients I see. Some people will soon head home while others are facing multi-organ failure in the intensive care unit."
Dr. Rus, who is board-certified in internal medicine, is also passionate about empathy-driven care.
“That means there is a good patient-doctor connection," said Dr. Rus. “It puts patients at ease in their time of need and leads to better care."
Dr. Rus studied at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York before going to medical school at Saint Georges University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. He completed his internal medicine residency program at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York.
A New York native, Dr. Rus enjoys Wisconsin living. He says the people here tend to be a lot nicer and appreciative. In his free time, he enjoys freediving, paragliding, skiing and spearfishing.
