Years ago, Kristin Cuff's grandfather was diagnosed with lymphoma and was cared for and treated by Marshfield Clinic.
“I grew up close to my grandparents and this journey with them provided me with a very deep appreciation for patient-centered, compassionate and collaborative health care. I wanted to be part of all that," she said.
She studied child psychology and biological development at the University of Minnesota and she continued with her academic and professional exploration after graduating.
“My journey came full circle with a decision to pursue my master's degree specializing in psychiatric and mental health," Cuff said.
Cuff received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and her Master of Science in nursing from Passan School of Nursing through Wilkes University.
She sees pediatric patients for impulsivity, inattentiveness, hyperactivity, aggression/disruptive behaviors, worry, nervousness, difficulty sleeping, low mood and other neurodevelopmental, sleep and mental health disorders.
Cuff provides medication management and recommendations for other supportive services.
“I provide my patients the same care I would like provided to someone in my family," she said. “I believe it is critical to provide care that considers the patient's goals and expectations. I also provide them with all possible resources and support."
She wants her patients to feel heard and understood and that they all worked together to provide the best care and support.
“When I think of children, I often think that it takes a village to raise them. I'm excited to be part of that village," Cuff said.
Outside of work, she spends time with her family and the extra-curriculars her children are involved in, including ice hockey, inline hockey, lacrosse, soccer and their school's mountain bike team. In her spare time, she enjoys photography, kayaking, working on her yard and keeping busy with other activities. She's originally from central Wisconsin, which is where she settled with her husband and their three children.
