Providing patient care runs in Kelly Dassow's family. Inspired by her grandmother, Kelly became a registered nurse. As her passion grew so did her education as she became a family nurse practitioner and now steps into a hospitalist role to provide patient care at a higher level.
Kelly focuses on treating the patient as a whole to help them overcome their illness. “Valuing the patient's input, listening carefully to their concerns, their fears and helping them achieve a sense of security while being treated are all part of my philosophy," she said.
As a hospitalist, Kelly coordinates and cares for patients of all ages and varying conditions during their hospital stay.
“I strive to provide the best patient care possible. Helping and guiding them through their journey while in the hospital, while achieving the final goal of discharge," Kelly said. “There is nothing more satisfying then helping a patient concur their illness and being discharged from the hospital."
Kelly previously worked as a registered nurse at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield and knew she wanted to be back with the health system.
“I loved how everyone within the system had a goal of providing the best patient care," Kelly said. “My main goal was to end up back with the health system as an NP to be able to join the wonderful team and provide the best patient care, especially in rural health."
Kelly earned a master's degree in family nurse practitioner from Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri. She earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona.
Kelly and her husband have three children and a black lab. In her free time, Kelly enjoys reading books, hunting, fishing, competing in bass fishing tournaments, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on her children at sporting events.
