“My goal is to make sure young people with hematologic and oncologic diseases get the best care possible."
Dr. Jon Brandt, pediatric hematology and oncology provider, sees patients for cancers of any type, blood count and blood cell functional abnormalities and clotting disorders.
Dr. Jon Brandt was drawn to this career to help infants, children and young adults, to study science and medicine and to advance medical knowledge.
“I love interacting with young people. Hematology and oncology allows me to use my interest in genetics and biochemistry to help those with blood, bleeding and malignant diseases," Dr. Brandt said.
He sees pediatric patients with cancers of any type, blood count and blood cell functional abnormalities and any type of clotting disorder.
As a provider, he wants his patients to know that he truly cares.
“I will always be honest. If I don't know the answer, I will find the person who does. I will tell you my answer as a doctor, and also what I would do as a dad," he said.
He received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed all post-graduate training at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, including his election to his position as Chief Resident in Pediatrics. He is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric hematology and oncology.
Dr. Brandt has been married to his wife since 1991. They have two daughters, a son and two boxers. Outside of work, he enjoys bicycling, golf, grilling, learning Italian and being in the Northwoods.
