"I believe in conscientious care for patients so that visits to a physician efficiently move them forward with a helpful plan and continuity of care."
Jennifer Larson is a board-certified physician assistant who treats patients in a team setting with orthopedic surgeon, Dr. David Carlson. They treat a variety of orthopedic problems involving the musculoskeletal system including bone fractures, degenerative conditions like arthritis in joints, and injuries to muscles, ligaments, and tendons.
Larson has more than 20 years in orthopedic care. In her review of patient condition and treatment options, she makes an effort to understand what is realistic for each patient according to their lives. Larson values conservative, stepwise management while recognizing the value of timely surgical intervention in some cases.
“I find it rewarding to care for patients and help them work through their treatment plan to get back to their daily lives," Larson said.
In the operative setting, Larson's goal is to help provide efficient, seamless, and skilled care in assisting with surgical procedures and closure to minimize anesthesia and operating room time without compromising quality of care.
Larson received her Physician Assistant training at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with a degree in Biology and Big 10 academic/athletic honors. Larson has worked extensively with general orthopedic surgeons, giving her a broad scope of orthopedic experience in trauma, joints, and sports medicine for all body parts. She also continues to practice in the Twin Cities in an orthopedic urgent care setting.
She is married with four children and is passionate about sports and the outdoors.
