As a pediatric critical care specialist, Dr.
Elisabeth Hooper spends most of her
time in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital. Her
patients are usually suffering from acute,
complicated diseases or traumatic injuries.
“I really like working with kids. They are fun
and remarkably resilient,” she noted. She
sees children from one week old to age 18.
Dr. Hooper is a native of Milwaukee and
chose to join Marshfield Clinic after an
excellent interview with the staff. She sensed
a good collaborative environment and
the opportunity to teach residents in the
pediatric and internal medicine/pediatric
(Med-Peds) programs in Marshfield.
She earned her medical degree at University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She completed a pediatric residency, and a pediatric critical care fellowship, at Advocate Children’s Hospital in Park Ridge, Ill.
Her husband, Dave, is pursuing a doctorate degree in church history at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago. They have two young children and enjoy spending time with them at the library and in parks, and reading.
