Dr. David Hirsch’s roots are in the Chippewa Valley. Born in Eau Claire and a 1986 graduate of Eau Claire Memorial High School, Dr. Hirsch was proud to move back home to start his practice.
Dr. Hirsch has published extensively on the subject of diabetes and presented on a wide range of women’s health topics including hypertensive disorders, dental problems and uterine anomalies in pregnancy. He chose OB/GYN as a specialty because it offers a mixture of surgery, office-based care and perhaps best of all, prenatal care and helping moms deliver babies. He also has interest in caring for transgender patients.
While in training, Dr. Hirsch was the chief resident and received numerous awards, including an outstanding resident award and several research awards. He was a four-time scholarship recipient while attending medical school at the University of Wisconsin.
Dr. Hirsch received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He later earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Aurora Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee.
Joined by his wife and two sons, Dr. Hirsch resides in Eau Claire. He enjoys participating in community theatrical productions, playing the piano and electric bass, and flying small aircraft.
