Helping patients understand their conditions and care is something Family Nurse Practitioner Ashley Stepanovs is passionate about.
“My goal as a nurse practitioner is to provide holistic care by not only treating the patient but providing them and their family with the resources they need to successfully manage their care on a long-term basis," Ashley said. “I enjoy caring for people and sharing the medical knowledge and experience I have."
As a hospitalist, Ashley coordinates and cares for patients of all ages and varying conditions.
“I am most passionate about helping patients understand the care they receive. Much of health care can be littered with medical jargon leaving patients with more questions than answers," Ashley said. “My goal is to leave the patient feeling as if they understand the disease process they are facing and the treatment options available. I am also passionate about prevention rather than just treatment. As a hospitalist, my focus will be on treating acute illnesses, but I also am passionate about preventing further acute and chronic disease processes."
Treating her patients like family is something Ashley incorporates into her practice.
“I provide care and guidance to you and your family as if I had known you my entire life," she said. “Having this mindset changes a provider's approach to medicine and how care is managed and makes it feel very personal."
Ashley earned a master's degree in nursing (family nurse practitioner specialty) as well as a bachelor's degree in nursing from Chamberlain University in Chicago.
In her free time, Ashley enjoys hiking, biking, cooking, kayaking and being physically active. A lifelong resident of Marshfield, Ashley and her husband have two children.
