“As a woman, I can empathize and
relate to the issues and concerns of
my female patients.”
Marshfield native Ann Sommer, P.A.-C., M.S., returned to her roots in 2008 to practice at Marshfield Medical Center. Living in the east, west and southwest parts of the United States gave her an appreciation for what our System has to offer. “It’s a great Center to work at. Marshfield Clinic Health System is well-known in the medical community throughout the nation.”
Being a mother of two children, she also was looking to get back to “that hometown atmosphere” and a familyfriendly community.
She finds practicing OB/GYN “a fulfilling experience with ever-changing new and exciting challenges.”
Ann is a firm believer in taking the time to get to know her patients and to discuss their options and treatment. “In OB/GYN, we foster a very respectful environment to help decrease our patient’s anxiety.”
She enjoys traveling, watching her kids participate in activities and overall, having fun with her family and friends. She also teaches group exercise and stays active in the Marshfield community.
After receiving a bachelor’s degree in physician assistant studies at King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, she completed a surgical residency at Norwalk Hospital/Yale University School of Medicine in Norwalk, Connecticut. She earned a master’s degree in advanced physician assistant studies at the Arizona School of Health Sciences, Mesa, Arizona.
