“Being a physician provides innumerable opportunities and immense privilege to help better the lives of patients."
As an obstetrics and gynecology physician, Angelica Lorenzo may find herself performing surgery, delivering babies and providing reproductive health education to a young woman all in the same day. This variety in her career and impact she could make as a physician drew her to OB-GYN.
“I feel honored to have the opportunity to care for women in all walks of life with a variety of conditions," Lorenzo said.
In her practice, she cares for patients through family planning, general and adolescent gynecology, obstetrics care and reproductive health education. She feels the most important elements in providing excellent patient care are trust, compassion and shared decision making.
“Overall, I am my patient's advocate to help them make the best health choices that fit their goals and values," she said.
Lorenzo earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois, and completed her OB-GYN residency at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Outside of work, Lorenzo enjoys spending time outdoors, cooking, amateur gardening, spoiling her cat and traveling.
