Nurse Practitioner Angela Colby started her career as a medical assistant with Marshfield Clinic Health System. She then went on to further her education as a nurse practitioner.
“The care for my patients is rooted in being an active listener, building trust, helping them understand medical/nonmedical options, formulating a tailored plan with the patient and supporting their decisions without judgment," Angela said.
Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Angela spent 15 years as a registered nurse with most of that time spent caring for women, infants and children. She spent three years as a family nurse practitioner, where she cared for a variety of patients and conditions.
“I saw many patients across the life span from the neonatal period through palliative care," she said. “A large part of my primary care practice was completing wellness visits across the lifespan, but I also managed a variety of acute illnesses and chronic disease processes such as hypertension, thyroid issues, diabetes, anxiety and depression."
Angela continues to bring her expertise and experience into her role in OB-GYN.
“I am most passionate about helping women understand the variety of changes our bodies will go through along the spectrum of life," she said. “I have an interest in preventative and reproductive health in the adolescent and young adult population, but also have an interest in assisting women during the peri-menopausal/menopausal period."
In her practice, she strives to be personable, non-judgmental, thorough, and up to date on the latest recommendations. Additionally, she will explain medical issues, lab results and recommendations in terms her patients can relate to.
Angela has lived in central Wisconsin, along with her extended family, since she was young. She is married with four kids, and enjoys sporting events and outdoor activities with her family.
