“Because medical situations are challenging and unpredictable, it’s important that
families know I truly care about their children.”
Dr. Adrienne Cruz specializes in caring for pediatric patients admitted to the hospital by their primary care doctors for conditions such as breathing disorders, infections and special needs.
She was drawn to the medical profession during her teens, as she appreciated the care given to her ailing mother. The decision to specialize in pediatrics came during medical school, when she discovered she especially enjoyed caring for children. “I have a passion for tracking down the proper diagnosis and working with families to get their understanding and agreement on the care and treatment for their loved one,” she said.
This native of southern California joined Marshfield Children's Hospital in 2003, attracted by the close-knit and cordial atmosphere. Since then, she has helped to develop the Clinic’s dedicated pediatric hospitalist program.
