Abby Mallek Karch is a Physician Assistant in the Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center’s Urgent Care department. She sees patients all across the age spectrum and provides comprehensive care for a variety of conditions. From suturing and splinting to removing a fish hook from someone’s finger, Ms. Mallek Karch says; “This is why I enjoy Urgent Care so much - we get to see it all.”
Ms. Mallek Karch enjoys the challenge of addressing a patient’s health concerns and referring them on to a further specialty if they need additional care.
Originally from Stevens Point, she says the Minocqua area reminds her of the close-knit community in which she grew up.
“The best part about working in the Northwoods is working with people who have a vested interest in serving the community,” she said.
Ms. Mallek Karch joined the Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center in 2007. She, her husband and their two sons, enjoy spending time with family and friends. Ms. Mallek Karch and her family are busy year round participating in various outdoor and nature activities such as cross-country skiing, hiking, fishing and boating. When they’re not having fun locally, they go on family adventures and love to travel. Ms. Mallek Karch is also a runner and has logged many miles on her running shoes.
Ms. Mallek Karch received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from St. Norbert College in De Pere. She then went on to complete a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois.
